Starlink is a satellite internet constellation project being developed by SpaceX, the private aerospace company founded by Elon Musk. It aims to provide high-speed, low-latency broadband internet across the globe, especially to remote and underserved regions.

Starlink uses a mega-constellation of thousands of small satellites orbiting at 550km approximately. Signals travel between satellites and ground stations, then to user terminals. Over 5,500 starlink satellites launched so far.

It aims to deploy up to 12,000 satellites with approval for even more. It provides speeds of 50-250 Mbps with latency around 20-40 ms. It is commercially operational in 70+ countries.

It aims to provide universal internet access and enable connectivity in conflict zones. It support critical communication systems in aviation, maritime and military.

It bridges digital divide in developing countries. It supports IoT and 5G expansion in low-infrastructure areas.

Challenges:
1.Space Debris
2.Monopoly risks
