POSHAN Abhiyaan (Prime Minister’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nutrition), also known as the National Nutrition Mission, was launched by the Government of India on 8th March, 2018 in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. It is implemented by the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

Objectives:
1.Reduce stunting among children
2.Reduce under-nutrition
3.Reduce low birth weight
4.Reduce anemia among children, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers

A mobile-based app for Anganwadi Workers to track services like supplementary nutrition, immunization and health check-ups is implemented. It focuses on community participation for awareness, behavior change and social mobilization. Mass media and interpersonal communication campaigns to improve child-feeding and maternal practices are conducted.

Challenges:
1.Digital divide affecting use of app
2.Inter-departmental coordination issues
3.Capacity building of Anganwadi workers remains incomplete
4.Limited diet diversity in food distribution
