It is a multi-modal transport network connecting India with Russia and Europe via Iran, Central Asia and the Caucasus.

It starts at Mumbai (India) and goes through Iran, Caspian Sea, Russia, Moscow and beyond into Europe. Total length of approximately 7200 km and cuts travel time by 15-20 days.

Objectives:
1.Reduce time and cost of cargo movement between India, Russia and Europe
2.Offer an alternative to the Suez Canal route
3.Enhance regional connectivity and trade
4.Strengthen energy, trade and diplomatic links
