Can I apply for the UPSC exam if I have completed my education from a foreign university through part-time courses without distance education recognition?
No, to be eligible for the UPSC exam, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a
recognized university. The degree obtained through part-time courses from a foreign university
must also be recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to be considered valid for
the UPSC exam. The AIU is responsible for granting equivalence to degrees earned abroad, and
candidates need to obtain an equivalent certificate from AIU before applying for the UPSC exam.
Without the recognition of the foreign degree by AIU, candidates will not be eligible to appear for
the exam.
