It is a militant and political organization based in Turkey and Iraqi Kurdistan, primarily made up of Kurdish nationalists. It is formed in 1978 by Abdullah Ocalan, it originally sought to create an independent Kurdish state. It has been involved in an armed struggle against the Turkish state since 1984.
Area of Operation: Southeastern Turkey, Northern Iraq, Northern Syria, Iranian border areas.

3.Recruitment of both male and female fighters, including child soldiers
4.Propaganda and political mobilization via media and diaspora support
