It was started in 2023 with the goal of enhancing India’s quantum computing, cryptography, sensing, and communication skills over a period of eight years. The Department of Science and Technology is in charge of its implementation. Its main goals include the development of atomic clocks, gravity sensors, ultrasensitive mangetometers, and superconducting and photonic cubits. Four theme hubs have been formed in two UTs and seventeen states. It promotes participation in quantum research by women scientists.
