1. MoPSW launched ‘SAGAR SAMRIDDHI’, an Online Dredging Monitoring System

To accelerate the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways (MoPSW)’s “Waste to Wealth” initiative, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal launched “Sagar Samriddhi – Waste to Wealth” on June 9, 2023.


MoPSW’s technological arm, the National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways, and Coasts (NTCPWC), is responsible for the development of the system.




Compared to the previous system, known as the draft and loading monitor (DLM) system, this new technology will offer advantages.


Before processing and generating real-time dredging reports, will also bring synergy between multiple input reports like daily dredging reports and pre- and post-dredging survey data.

2. ICMR Study: India has 101 million diabetics & 136 million pre-diabetics & Goa has the highest prevalence

The Indian Council of Medical Research–India Diabetes (ICMR-INDIAB) recently conducted a study that found that approximately 101 million people in India have diabetes and 136 million have pre-diabetes.


According to the study, Goa has the highest proportion of diabetics. Diabetes affects approximately 26.4% of the Goan population.

4. ICAI Central Council approves renewal of MRAs with CPA Canada, CPA Ireland

The current mutual recognition agreement (MRA) and memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CPA Canada (Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada) and CPA Ireland (previously the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland) has been renewed with approval from the Central Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), India’s largest professional accounting body.


ICAI has likewise supported the reestablishment of MRA with the South African Foundation of

Contracted Bookkeepers (SAICA), the Bahrain Establishment of Banking and Money

The Barge was constructed in accordance with the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) classification rules and has a 30-year service life.
